Cat killed my CAP LOCK Beep sound :-(

HP 13" Spectre X360 laptop 16g ram. Audio out of 3.5mm jack to powered speakers. Same problem going to 2 extra monitors HDMI Splitter to 29" LG UltraWide and 34"Curved Samsung monitors. I can get audio through them too under hdmi.

She walked across my keyboard and no longer I do not get the beeps on pressing the cap lock key.
Yes, its turned on in 'Ease Of Access' settings. Gone through the setting and I also found out the Narrator also does not talk to me anymore (GOOD > not that I care about that).
Fn 6 if I recall use to turn on n' off the beeps Now it brings up my BRAVE Brower sound level or highlights address bar on firefox. Weird! The other Fn keys work fine. Been googling for answers and nothing helps.
Gone through my sound setting, sound from browser are ok, windows startup sound works, just the notifications like cap locks (this laptop does not have a NumLock button)
She had to hit some combo keys to kill it.
I can't eat a diet chocolate fudge bar with her jumping up begging and sitting on the keyboard in my face. So, I just can't figure this one out how she did this as it was working till yesterday :-(
She has knocked it out before, but I have not figured this one out.

Hi, can somewhat sympathise, fortunately my cat is bright enough to avoid the keyboard when traversing lap-desk or v.versa.

Here's how to restore at least some of the notification sounds you refer to:

The extensive searchable tutorial list can be very helpful- you may find more from linked tutorials or this list:

Check your browser history - The cat must have used Google search to find the keyboard shortcut to disable that annoying sound

I've done the steps listed here before joining this forum. None of these work.
but I do have it setup now to flash the window if I press the caps.
I may just try the restore option and roll back drivers,,,

re the cat accidently finding hot keys -

I once got a phone call from a mate who said his screen was suddenly upside down. I guess he'd inadvertently pressed the hot ket combo for 'rotate screen'.

I thought it would be easy talking him through finding the relevant menu and fixing the rotate. Trouble was, all the menus were upside down (hard to read) and his mouse was going backwards.

We struggled for 10 mins, but eventually the only answer was to tell him to turn the monitor upside down so we could find the thing to click. This is back in the days of Vista and the dude had a large, heavy CRT monitor, and down the phone all I could hear was bangs, crashes and cussing.

Beats me why there was even a function to turn the screen upside down in the first place.
