I have the 32 GB Quad Kit, G.Skill Trident Z RGB Series schwarz, DDR4-3866, 18-19-19-39-2T and they do not like any changes at all, except for refresh cycle time to 350, and Refresh interval to maximum.

Changing the Mode from 1 to 2 will not boot, neither does mucking around with command rate.
Trident Z RGB just suck for overclocking beyond XMP
    Have you loosened the timings?

Kol, I have tried everything, and thy become either unstable or unbootable real quick.

I can get a little more speed if I OC using BLCK, but the only timings I can change and be still stable are refresh cycle time and Refresh interval. They just suck to mess around with.

If temperature is kept low enough is current no longer a degradation issue?
It helps. With a low probabiliy, the electrons in the current knock the mettalic atoms in the conductotr's lattice loose migrating/eroding the metal in the conductive strips in the chip. The higher the currrent the higher the probabbiliy. Higher temperatures "loosen" the binding of the metallic ions in the conductors, making it easier to knock them loose and displace them.

    warning   Warning

Today for my Maximus X Hero board it shows this update under Utilities:
    Asus Z370 Maximus X Motherboards-image.png

Note: Please uninstall your existing AURA software before installing Armoury Crate.

*The most recent versions of the Aura software can still be downloaded from the aura sync website: Aura Sync software, plus wallpaper
I did this, and Armoury Crate does NOT have Aura, all it is, is an app to show ROG news and products(an app for ads)

I then uninstalled it and reinstalled AURA, which went well, but when you try to open AURA it crashes.
I needed to reimage my system to get AURA back.

Again do not install Crate on your Maximus X boards, it's 5h!tware!!!!

If you use RGB on your system, you'll lose AURA.

Hey Mike, ASUS is notorious for having lousy coders, in all their software.
If it wasn't for the fact that the don't have a nice graphic fan setting UI in BIOS like MSI does, I wouldn't even have AI Suite installed to switch fan profiles between my personal fan profile and full speed for benchmarking.

The only problem with AURA is; if you use anything other than static colors(like I do),
    or the default unicorn puke,

it is a resource hog, and ramps your CPU up.

    Worked on my Code X.

I created a simple sync with the creator app. It was static white on my LED strip, static red on memory, MB, and graphics card. This static combo generated 0% CPU usage under Aura as it should, since it is all static. Under crate, the lightingservice used 17% CPU at idle. So I reverted back to Aura 1.06.17 (later versions are busted on Windows 10) via backup. It is prudent to always make a backup before installing Asus softwware.

Sorry for the late reply back Cliff, lost my power and was on my backup generator . Just got it back few mins ago.

Yes I did get AURA actually installed and had it running , but it was using a huge amount of resources ...just like you said. Plus it installs lots of crap I had no use for. Its a B**** to remove completely too. LoL
