Odd recurring issue with searching shared files from a server

Hey guys, so I'm trying to deal with a repeated issue where searching files in a mapped drive from a local server keeps getting mucked up. This happens from multiple Windows 10 computers (22H2) browsing to a Server 2016 machine (it's a Hyper-V VM if that matters). What basically happens is that the search dialog shows the desired files but they all have blank icons and cannot be opened nor have the context menus displayed when right-clicking:



It's not a permissions issue as the users can browse to the desired directory manually and open the files without a problem.

The only solution thus far has been to reboot the server but that's proving to be an annoyance given that this is happening repeatedly.

Anyone ever see this before?

EDIT: Also we've already rebuilt the search index
