I tried all the suggestions. I ordered a new keyboard and typing does the same thing. Produces a per.od periodically/randomly. My onboard keyboard does n.t produce a sporadic period. See periods in some words in this reply!

What is the connection to the computer, Wired USB, Wireless USB dongle or Bluetooth? Is USB plugged into USB 2 or USB 3 port?

Did you buy the same keyboard? What is the brand and reference of the 2 keyboards if they are different?
The onboard keyboard doesn't do that, does that mean that you are using the keyboard on a laptop (personally I don't know if it's possible to connect a keyboard to a laptop)?

If you use the keyboards on a laptop, plug them into a desktop computer to see if they have this issue. In your signature you seem to have one.

Since it's 2 different keyboards that have the same problem, it's not a hardware problem. It's software.

I found the keyboard driver on the AJAZZ brand website. It's this one: AJAZZ_ AK820 wired RGB_ Keyboard driver_ V1.0.zip
In the link there are several drivers, the correct one is the name I indicated. Install it if you haven't already.

I marked the issue as solved. But it's .ot solved as you can see by the word (.ot should be not). the issue just took longer to surface.
I checked dr.vers on keyboards and usbs in System Device manager and .lll (all) came us as having the most recent driv.rs. I'm at a total loss. We tried checking each usb port f.r events and deleted one usb that had a very old event. Th.t did not take care of the issue either.

    unsolved keyboard malfunction

    22H2 build 9045-4529
I mistakenly reported the original Keyboard Malfunction as solved because I though it was.
    Here's an update.
I followed all suggestions/fixes and none worked. Finally I exited a keyboard app I had downloaded and used. My husband said to take it out of start-up so I did and then opened the Windows10 onboard keyboard. WoW! Problem fixed. But now I need to know how to get that to be in my taskbar or on start-up.

I want to thank everyone that helped me through this aggravating issue. It's been a trip for sure.

Any suggestions or directions to put the Win10 onboard keyboard on taskbar or start-up would be greatly appreciated.

I put onscreen keyboard in the Taskbar Search and got it. I right-clicked its icon on the Taskbar and chose Pin to Taskbar.
